>We received a letter from Victor today and we were so excited! The letter was written on December 19, 2009 (which shows you how slow international mail moves!) and was written to thank us for the birthday gift that we sent him.
The letter is as follows (translated by a Compassion staff member):
Victor greets you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and hopes that you are well. He says he is okay and doing well in school.
Victor says thank you for the Christmas gift worth 21,650 shillings (roughly 11.33, the gifts are split up between all the children from a fund that we all give to at Christmas).
He used it to buy the following:
A shirt- 10,000 (roughly five dollars)
A pair of trousers- 10,000 (roughly five dollars)
Socks- 1,650 (if you can do math that leaves roughly 1.33)
Victor says his family send you greetings and appreciates your love and support.
He would like to share the following memory verse with you: Psalm 119:12 “I praise you O Lord, teach me your ways.”
Victor requests that you keep praying for him to remain healthy and keep in school.
He wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Just thought I would share that with you. If you are interested in sponsoring a child either let us know (Matthew is an advocate) or visit the Compassion website.
