>Three Seats Home, Please!

Hey guys! I know that it has been a little while since the last time that I blogged, and for good reason. I wasn’t allowed to tell all of you what was going on until now…yesterday we sent off our application to Taiwan to adopt a little girl!!! We still have months and months until we find out who she is and what she looks like but we wanted to have our families and friends praying with us and for us through this process from the very beginning! The idea of adoption has always been something that I have been passionate about and something that was very important to me. With all of the fertility treatments failing (miserably), we started looking at our options.

Option #1: continue fertility treatments that we can’t afford with no promise of it working.
Option #2: wait until we had been  married for 3 years and either foster or adopt domestically.
Option #3: Stop everything and just wait.
Option #4: Look at adopting internationally.

Well, we had two options to adopt internationally pop up very quickly. One was in Uganda, but as soon as we looked into it they told us they were not accepting applications at this time. The second was through an children’s home in Taiwan where our housemate, Alicia Conn, had spent a few month in 2009. The more we looked at the organization, the better it sounded. The Home of God’s Love is a children’s home that is Christ-centered and loves the children that they take care of. They recently got 20 infants that all need homes badly, sounds perfect to me! We have really a burden for a little girl and so we started preparing our application to bring our little girl home! We found all the references we needed and answered the application questions within a week or so. We sent it off yesterday and it will probably take a few months for all of our references to respond and for our application to get approved (they are taking care of over 20 infants)!!!

Ways you can pray right now:
-That the application will get to Taiwan safely
    – That the application will be accepted
    – That our little girl, wherever she is, is safe and taken care of
    – That we can finish getting our house in order to get a home study
    – That the finances will work out to bring her home!

I can’t wait for the moment when we go to the ticket counter in Taiwan to get our three airplane seats home!!

Oh, just in case you were wondering, her name is going to be Annie Lynn Fraser!!!!!

  1. >That's awesome Tara! We'll be praying for you guys!

  2. >That's so exciting!!!! I can't wait to call and get all the details and hear you squeal in delight! There are several families at church that have/are adopting (including the pastor!). They've got great ways to raise money and they've (almost all of them) used Lifeline which is an international adoption agency, if this particular route doesn't work out.
