>UPDATES on Life!

>I am planning to do a large Africa update so that you can see what I have been up to but before that I wanted to give you what I think is a much more exciting update! In August we got an email from The Home of God’s Love, the orphanage in Taiwan that we are adopting from saying that we were on the waiting list but that it would be 4-5 years and to not get excited to tell anyone we were expecting a child any time soon unless it came from somewhere other than them. OUCH! It hurt and was very discouraging but then Wednesday we received this in an email:

{Also, have you started a home study yet?  We find no record of it here, so wanted to check with you to see if we’ve missed something.}

 Well, we stopped our home study because it would take so long to adopt and a home study is only good for a year. So we were not trying to get too excited because for all we knew they had forgotten where we were on the list and when we reminded them they would say, “Oh, never mind then”… But obviously that is not what they said.
This is the email we received today,
Dear Matt & Tara,
“An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.”  Proverbs 24:26
Yes, we think it is time you get a home study done.  We’ve had a lot more babies passing through the adoption channel and your name is coming up quickly.  We recommend you get it done right away, so if a child does become available, you’ll be prepared.
Happy Chinese New Year in Jesus’ Love,

Home study is being restarted! The only problem is this, we are broke! We spent A LOT of money on our trip to Uganda (of course we had NO IDEA we were going to get this email) and our home study will cost 1,000.00. Please pray that all of that will come together. In the next couple of weeks I am on a job hunt to find a part time job that will allow me to help with the expenses. Pray for that as well! We are so excited and trust that everything will come together. We are also thinking about doing a tshirt fundraiser with this group, what do you think? Would you be interested in something like this? It would be a Simply Love shirt with the outline of Taiwan on it! I personally like style B. What about you?
