Our Annie. An Introduction.
For all of you who are just starting to read the blog, or those of you who have been reading for awhile and are a little confused about exactly how our adoption journey will happen, so are we. I will give you all of the information we know and if you need any clarification or have any questions please email me at:

We are adopting from Taiwan, from an orphanage called The Home of God’s Love, or THOGL for short. This orphanage is run by a couple named Ted and Bev Skiles who run this orphanage for the glory of God and helping the “least of these” in Taiwan. We are rapidly rising up the waiting list and they informed us last week to rush out and complete our home study (bunch of paperwork and meetings that allow some stranger to tell you that you can be a parent).
We met with our home study agent on Valentine’s Day to get all of our paperwork back on track (we had been on a 4-5 year waiting list until everything started moving way faster. You can read all about it here) and we had our first home visit Monday February 21st at 9:00 am. I was not planning on it being quite this soon so I had a lot of cleaning to do in very little time! We have applied to adopt a little girl, under the age of two.
The way the adoption process works there is we pick all of the details for the child we are looking for and even get to pick a name. As soon as we are matched the baby gets to be called by that name. So somewhere in the world may be a woman who is pregnant and has decided to do the bravest thing she will ever do and give her baby up for adoption, and I am praying for her and thanking God for the baby girl she is carrying. If Annie is already born, I pray for health and safety and that even now the Lord will work to knit our hearts to hers.
***Update: When this post was written our girl was 1 day shy of 1 month old. How crazy is that? I had a feeling we were close but little did I know how close we actually were!!***
